UK Sustainable Eco-friendly figurative sculpture made to order.
So, what you need to think about first is whether your figure should epitomise love, good humanity, trust, socio-politics, grief or is it intended to warn us against the darker side of life?
Almost anything is possible.
Unlike many materials used in figurative art, the use wood conveys a tangible sense of life, warmth and humanity.
Wooden figures can be painted to instill a contemporary feeling. Ideal for ornament or modern small scale memorial.
Don't be daunted by the thought of commissioning a figurative sculpture. Robert is a little different from many contemporary British sculptors in that he will not impose his thoughts, taste or designs on you. In fact, it works the other way around here.
So, don't worry about the artistic validity of your idea or vision. There's no embarrassment here either (your idea may well be the best thing since sliced bread anyway). It's all about creating the figurative sculpture you want, and Robert will guide you through the arty bit too.
Can you imagine a better talking point over an evening meal or big business decision? Small scale figures can portray passive messages, after all, it is a natural reaction for one human being to recognise emotion or expression or body language, in another.
Let's think about a new kind of Public statue. Those inert bronze heroic (or villain) statues standing on plinths are old hat surely? I say, today's values are about natural materials, sustainability and inclusive humanity. Oh, and interactive.
The design process is probably the most important aspect, and this is where you come in. Give me your ideas either by drawing it yourself or a written statement. We shall work on the design together until we get it right. That may include a facial expression, a mood or political message. Almost anything is possible.
Imagine a restaurant with different sporting figures across their tables. Figurative Art can be advantageously used in many commercial situations.
Figurative Art & design are ideal for ornamentation to all buildings, residential, shopping complexes and office/university campuses.
And the cost? Well a life size realistic figure will cost from £7,000 and small scale realistic figures cost about £800 to £1,000. This includes the consultative design process with delivery at an additional cost.
Formal Community Memorials, for war, Covid, disaster, protest or other Public situations.
British figurative sculpture for use as social therapy.
Not a lot. A statue immediately brings to mind one of those Victorian hero (or villian) figures on a plinth. My figurative sculpture tends to be about humanity and emotion and contemporary society.
No, all quotations and early discussions are entirely without charge.
Although I'm based in Scotland, I serve the whole UK.
No problem, just describe your vision and I'll do the drawing, and we shall work on the design together until we get it right.
That's fine, I can make a realistic sculpture of a person if you can supply several photos. You don't have to have a life size figure, I often make small scale figures that can be discreetly positioned around the house and they can be very powerful, fun and respectful.
Certainly, many of my clients are charities or community groups and my green credentials can often oil the wheels to funding for Public Art projects.
Have you seen my house signs?
